About Us
Andre and Aynne (Vinnicombe) de Beer welcome you to Clearwater Lodges, a family-owned and operated business since 1955, when Aynne’s grandparents, Herb and Anne Vinnicombe purchased the lodge.
Aynne and Andre have many years of experience in the hospitality and food business, starting out in South Africa with Conservation Corporation. This was a unique start, working as hosts in a world renowned game lodge with a diverse and largely international clientele. Guests were taken on photographic safari all while experiencing 5 star lodge accommodations in the African bush. This transition to Clearwater was an easy one with ecotourism at the center, a priority for the Vinnicombes and de Beers alike. Anne Vinnicombe used to say “we are merely custodians of this land, but what an important responsibility it is”.
At Clearwater we have many generations of families who spend time with us every year. One of our great tasks is to care for our natural environment, so that it is not only here for us, but for generations to come.
